We made a point to swing by The Butter House on a trip back from Carmel due to the "Check, Please" recommendation. I mean, who doesn't like Filipino food with American diner breakfast?! Also, love that it's literally a mom-and-pop shop. Was it all it was buttered up to be? Well, sorta! Standouts for us were the loco moco and the lemon curd blueberry pancakes. The super-sized lumpias were also tasty. The pork belly of the pork belly fried rice was ultra crispy and delicious and the fried rice flavors were good, but I personally prefer a crispier fried rice rather than this buttery one. To be fair to them... it is called "The Butter House" after all. We were most disappointed by the Filipino Breakfast (the spam and longanisa were so-so with plain rice -- also, what Filipino place doesn't have garlic rice as an option?!?!) and the fried chicken and waffles - the chicken was kinda dry and the waffles a little sour tasting. However, is it pretty tasty greasy spoon? Yeah! Would I come back for that loco moco and pancakes? Sure!

As a long-time local, I can confidently say this place is a culinary gem that never disappoints! Their menu is a delightful adventure, with the Pork Belly Fried Rice stealing the spotlight--add a kick of sriracha and it's an absolute 10/10! When I'm craving something sweet, I can't resist their Lemon Blueberry curd Pancakes & don't get me started on the Lavender Lemonade--it's the perfect refreshing sip! The ambiance here is fantastic, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. Just a heads up: weekends can get busy, but the Yelp app makes joining the waitlist a breeze. The exceptional service just sweetens the deal! Whether you're a regular or a first-timer, their menu has something for everyone.

This place came highly recommended, so I definitely wanted to check it out during our trip. The wait can get long, so we joined the waitlist online as we were on our way and only ended up waiting about 10-15 minutes there. We started with some mimosas, which were great and had lots of champagne! I orded a breakfast burrito with steak at the recommendation of our server, and it was delicious! The salsa on the side was a great addition. My boyfriend ordered the Loco Moco and liked it a lot. We also ordered some lumpia to try since Butter House specializes in Filipino breakfasts, and they were fantastic! Crunchy outside, full of delicious stuff on the inside, and both of the dipping sauces were so yummy. This was a great stop on our trip!

Another trip to the Butter House today, and I have to say they are so consistent with clean tables, great, efficient, and friendly service. Hardly a phone out, hardly anybody taking selfies, mostly locals, many smiles ! I ordered the Grubber Omelet while my wife ordered the TBH Breakfast Sandwich. Mine was a generous portion (it's nearly 1.00pm and I am still full) and very tasty, BUT my wife without a doubt won the prize for 'best dish ordered'. Nothing wrong with mine, but nothing spectacular either; however, the TBH with Aoli was off the charts, mic-dropping, finger-licking, sinfully stretching goodness! I don't think you can go wrong here; just be prepared to see dishes march in, knowing you will be back to order on your return ! Heartily recommended.

This restaurant has a cute vibe, and I enjoyed the fun decor, even if it felt a bit cheap. The customer service was just okay; our waiter didn't check on us often, and we had to flag him down for a water refill. However, the food was fantastic! Everything was hot and fresh. We asked our waiter about the "potato cakes," and while he claimed they were amazing, they turned out to be just ordinary hashbrowns--definitely not what I expected! They were good, though, just not as special as the name suggested. Overall, a fun experience with delicious food!

It's time... Its Rhyme time! For the most important meal of the day I love to eat with my kids and my spouse, So while visiting California's Central Coast We decided to check out The Butter House. Thank God for my wife's quick thinking And for getting us on the long waiting list, Pancakes, Omelettes, Fried Rice & Loco Moco Are just a few of the breakfast items with a twist. Serving up your favorite American Classics With a side of Filipino/Pacific Islander flare, So many specialty items you will want to try Praying the person next to you is willing to share. Thankfully, I have three very young children Who can never seem to finish their plate, I am going on a limb for this next statement But I'm guessing that's why I am gaining weight ;) Eating their left over scrambled eggs & bacon Polishing off what was left of their French toast, My wife's Lemon Curd & Blueberry pancakes Was the unfinished item that I loved the most. So who is gonna bet on exactly what I ordered If you guess correctly I will pay you in cash, Hint, Hint it'll rhyme with your winnings You better hope you picked corned beef hash. A hearty breakfast to start your morning off right But only if you order the star of the show, I take mine with 4 creamers and 2 sugars Don't you dare forget my hot cup of Joe. Located in the small town of Seaside, California The Butter House is an eatery not to be missed, But heed to my advice of making a reservation And getting yourself on that long waiting list. So... What you gonna get???

This place was SO DAMN GOOD! I am nearly a week past my birthday trip to Moneterrey and I am still DREAMING of all of the delicious food I consumed at The Butter House! What started as a joke--we passed by in the car en route to the beach and my boyfriend goes "hey babe, lets go there you love butter!"--ended up as our breakfast stop the next day when we read all of the incredible reviews. The wait is long, but you can put your name in ahead of time and kill some time at the pinball bar in the plaza (seriously, $10/hour all you can play, do it!) and the wait IS seriously worth it. It was so good that I ended up going back again later in the week! The first time we got the lumpia to start, and I highly suggest you get these as you can tell they're a love story to the owner's heritage and made with so much love. Not to mention they're fantastic! My boyfriend got the chicken and waffles and it felt slightly bland until we added some hot sauce, which made it perfect. We also shared shrimp and grits as well as the pumpkin bread french toast. It was the perfect blend of sweet, savory, and enough leftovers for lunch later! The only reason it loses a star is our second visit--service was sadly inattentive. To be fair, it was a Sunday and incredible busy: I put our name in the virtual line at 10am, aiming to get there for 12 which was when we did get seated. Our party got sat in the bar instead of at a table, which seems like it's typically counter service because the bartender who took our order was too busy to give us much attention. We would have ordered at least two more rounds of drinks had we been checked on. The wait for food was also nearly an hour, and everything came out at once when we thought the lumpia would be an appetizer. A friend's order was wrong, and the waiter had picked it back up to change it and she cried out and said it was fine because she was so hungry at this point. So, this place is ABSOLUTELY worth it and I hope to come back someday and update it to the true five star :)

I'm honestly so happy that I found this place! I don't normally care too much for breakfast places as it's usually just generic breakfast items but this place makes my Asian taste buds happy lol both of my parents can be picky with food outside of their culture but this place gives them something similar to home while still being able to go out, especially for breakfast! The food here is all amazing, so fresh and flavorful! The lumpia, omg I'm craving it while typing this! I could eat just that and be so happy. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and there's plenty of seating inside. I will definitely come back when I'm in town again and I'll be sure to recommend this place to my friends!
